The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is the world’s largest private foundation and is committed to eradicate inequalities in global health, fight poverty, and enable access to education worldwide.

Hans has got a background in economics and came to the Gates Foundation via a previous gig in management consulting at BCG. He works on advocacy and innovation scouting in europe. Sindura has a background in veterinary sciences and biomedical research. His research area was in electrophysiology at NIH and subsequently has held different positions at the Gates foundation over the past nine years. He currently works as a Deputy Director in the Global Health team.

We will learn about the career paths of the two speakers and get an introduction to the Gates Foundation. More specifically, we will hear about activities centered on Global Policy & Advocacy as well as Global Health. A deep dive into some selected Global Health projects will illustrate the role of scientists in the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The talk will be followed by a Q&A session, where you will have the chance to ask Hans and Sindura more specific questions about their exciting job.
